Color of Change
Hate crimes on college campuses are rising, but administrators are not acting enough to fight against it. Color of Change asked us to find a solution in a two-week ad virtual competition, Indoor Recess.
Our response as Team 9? To say #ShameOnU to universities who have sheltered hate crimes, and expose their true colors.
Awarded Overall Winning Campaign, Best Creative, and Recess Monitor’s Pick.
ShameOnU.com
All of our ads have a call to action to our main website, where we have a “Hall of Shame” to feature universities who have had many race-related issues.
Users can also voice their concerns on social media and sign university-specific petitions to demand change.
Twitter Takeover
Incoming and current students often have questions about their schools on Twitter. We reply to them with the truth.
Instagram Intervention
We partner with famous alumni and student influencers to challenge their alma mater or current school with the #ShameOnU.
This sparks a movement against universities that have not been acting enough against hate crime.
Graphics will populate @ColorOfChange’s sponsored ads, which takes people directly to the petition page on ShameOnU.com
Youtube Bumpers
Everyone gets excited when it’s college decision day. But what if you find out that your dream school is home to hate crime? Before you choose, best to peruse.
OOH
Experiential
People can “apply” to any university featured in the Hall of Shame and receive an admissions package. Instead of receiving a bundle of pride, people will find shameful stats about that university — all delivered to their doorstep.

How about the universities that do change? We take their ShameOnU badge away, and replace it with a GoodOnU badge.
